Friendship Village Columbus Named Top Workplace for Third Year Running

Friendship Village Columbus Named Top Place to Work

For a third year in a row, Friendship Village Columbus (FVC) has been named a Top Workplace in Columbus by Columbus CEO. The senior living community ranks 10th among 30 winners in the midsize employer category.

Columbus CEO Magazine recognized 75 Columbus companies and organizations in 2018, based on surveys about the workplace completed by their employees. Friendship Village Columbus has earned the Top Workplace honor in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Friendship Village Columbus employs 235 people. Based in northeast Columbus, the senior living community celebrates 40 years in business this year.

In addition to being named Top Workplace, FVC was named Best Retirement Community in the Columbus CEO Best of Business 2017 awards.

We are so pleased to be acknowledged by our employees and Columbus CEO as we celebrate our 40th year in central Ohio,” said Lisa Burkhart, executive director of Friendship Village Columbus.

As a Life Plan Community, Friendship Village Columbus provides a variety of lifestyle and healthcare services under one roof, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. FVC is a nonprofit community managed by United Church Homes of Marion, Ohio.

We moved to Friendship Village Columbus for various reasons. We are reasonably healthy and wanted to be sure we could enjoy the benefits of independent living before moving to the next phase of our lives. Through the experience of some friends we decided to skip the condo phase and go directly to a friendly senior living environment.

We moved here before we were 70 to allow for a pleasurable retirement. The Lifecare contract, safety, amenities and activities supersede any other facilities we considered. Camaraderie between residents and staff is a rich experience.
